Regardless of whether the decision by BuzzFeed was right or wrong, many similar and confirmed accusations have come out against Trump such as his vulgar molestation of grown women and rape of many young children. You can not have in insane amount of accusations against you without at least some of them being true. The document that BuzzFeed released was just another in a long line of possible or confirmed wrong doings our president has gotten away with. Besides his more personal grievances our President Trump has gotten away with:
Actively lowering the taxes of the rich, constantly hurting the environment by repealing laws that protect nature for his own gain, purposely delegitimizing the news media so they have less power against him, he has cut many beneficial ties with other countries, has allowed Russia to meddle with our elections so he could win, started a harmful trade war between China and the U.S. that only hurts both parties financially, he has stripped gays of their conveniences and rights, done very little about the pandemic at hand and only does more when it benefits himself which has allowed hundreds of thousands to die so far, he has ordered the military to shoot at his own people who were participating in #BlackLivesMatter rallies, and he put immigrant children in cages while saying this about them, "These aren't people, these are animals," which is very similar to what Hitler said about Jews being animals.
How much are we as Americans willing to let not just Trump get away with, but our future presidents? Setting a precedent now that our president can get away with whatever he wants is not healthy for the future of America. If we do not hold our president to a certain standard now, then future presidents won't deal with consequences either - allowing for the rise of American Tyrants. How does Trump get away with so much and are you willing to let him get away with more?
Before beginning let me clarify that I'm neither a Trump supporter nor an opponent, I'm just here to present a counter argument. The beginning statement seems interesting, and the accusations seem to be in a large quantity, but that doesn't always mean they're true. But I can't confirm anything since I would need to look at all the evidence which i don't have present. However, when it comes to your third paragraph I have many statements to refute. When it comes to the statement of the president allowing for hundreds of thousands of Americans to die of the virus and more be infected that doesn't all fall upon him, considering that the U.S. has a large population which is diverse in the age category, and people with many diseases. It also doesn't help we're an obese country which the virus has used to it's own benefit as obese people are probably gonna be at higher risk of dying as well as people with other health issues. If he were to as well enact stricter policies this could lead to large scale policing for people not wearing masks or following quarantine, and knowing the federal government giving them to much power is never a good idea. As for black lives matter movement I don't agree with their message, but for Trump to deploy feds and officers to disperse the area during a what I suspect to be peaceful demonstration was wrong. As for the Trade war it has negatively impacted both nations, but was mean't to bring back American industry as well as weaken our opponent which would fall under your idea of tyranny as the Chinese government is persecuting a specific peoples and treating them like Jews in concentration camps during World War Two. The Russia scandal was never proven as the Muller report said nothing and the man who was going to testify didn't and instead wrote a book on what he would have said. As for the LGBT, he hasn't done much with the group or taken anyone's rights away. With the media he is in constant struggle and in truth they both don't convey the complete truth and like the assigned reading says, limit everything to about ten seconds with no context. The quote you as well referenced was about a press meeting during the Honduran migration event where MS13 was hiding within the large amount of males traveling in the caravans. The gangs have been known to chop babies heads off as well as more brutal torture methods for rival opponents. He then referenced the gang as the quote you presented. As for the kids in the detainment centers I implore you to find a solution to where to locate countless children with no documentation, as well as find the parent or guardian to send them back to when your department in hand has little to no resources. And to compare Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler makes no sense as there is no large scale militarization or authoritarian government telling the people what to do or say.
ReplyDeleteAll in all, There is one thing I would find negative about him which was when he bombed the Iranian general, who wasn't a saint, but did create some escalation and further conflict when he promised to do no such thing and bring our troops back home from the middle east.
