Empathy: Does it guide or hinder moral action?
Empathy is an extremely powerful tool used in the day to day or even life changing events. Empathy allows us to connect with another and really allow us to experience a feeling with another. However, empathy is also the compass for decisions we make as much as it is the cloud that hinders us from making the right one. In the article titled "Does Empathy Guide or Hinder Moral Action," it is made clear that empathy has its pros and cons. One side of the issue argues that Moral action should be guided by reasoning and logic. Reasoning allows a person to tackle an issue with the dispassionate fairness it takes to make an unbiased decision. They also argue that emotions tend to fuel people negatively, influencing a possibly bad and intense outcome. Not taking into consideration the emotional domain of an issue really seals a decision into place because rationality is always consistent unlike emotions. The opposing side argues that delving into someones emotions and mind allows someone to really see what decision is fit. Though it was noted that empathy can be directed negatively, the same goes the other direction. People can direct their emotions into a reasonably helpful and passionate way. Rather than use it to guide one through anger, it can be used to clear one mind to exact a good decision for others. It is interesting how reasoning battles with emotion. Empathy is clearly a valuable asset in our lives but it would be interesting to see what my fellow peers think of this topic.

Empathy is a very strong emotion which guides us to make the right choice more than it guides us to make the wrong choice. As a decision maker, I feel like if every choice we made was based on facts and logic we would have no problems on this Earth in its current state, but Empathy is the reason why humans are still alive, our care for each other is what brought us this far and if we got rid of it we would have no future.
