In the article Is Digital Connectedness Good or Bad For People, debaters begin to argue over whether the internet is a positive or negative aspect to society. Csbora, one of the debtors, expresses how the internet creates a world that is not our own. That people in a society based on screens, portray a character on the internet that is not who we are in real life. Causing a strain in not only our real-life relationships but also a strain on our mental health as we see the fake images and begin to compare them to our own lives. Csbora’s argument on the matter began to intrigue me, causing me to question social media as a whole. Why in a world where we are all suffering whether from mental health or physical, portray images of ourselves online that are not true? Are we trying to make ourselves feel better or are we trying to ignore our real emotions? Why are we creating and spreading fake images of a society that is only based on lies?
